by tokyodan, posted 03/30/08 08:57:57   » System

If you are not a member you can hear only 90-second samples of all songs.
If you want to hear longer samples, join up as a member (fan/listener) - it's free! Then you can hear the full tunes. All samples are streamed at 48kbps, mono.

If you want to hear the tunes at 256kbps, in stereo, please buy them. Then you can download them and listen to them anytime, anywhere, and on any MP3 player.

Euros to Dollars to Yen? or Euros to Yen?

Euros to Dollars to Yen? or Euros to Yen?

The currency used for buying stuff on Jindies.com has been changed from U.S. Dollars to Japanese Yen due to the following reasons:

  • We are in Japan.
  • Payouts to artists are in Japanese Yen.
  • Since our customers are from all over the world, it makes more sense to convert from, for example, Euros to Yen rather than from Euros to Dollars and then to Yen.
  • This saves the Japanese artists from paying PayPal's 2.5% fee for converting from U.S. Dollars to Yen when they withdraw their funds from PayPal.

Song File Conversion and Preparation Service

Song File Conversion and Preparation Service

Song files uploaded to Jindies.com are in three formats:

  • Format 1: 48kbps, 44,100 Hz, mono MP3 for streaming samples.
  • Format 2: 256kbps, 44,100 Hz, stereo MP3 for sales.
  • Format 3: zip file (Digital Album) that contains two or more 256kbps, stereo MP3s for sales. (The zip file may also contain graphic files of album art and text files of song lyrics).

Also song title, album name, artist information, copyright information, and a picture must be added to the 256kbps MP3 file's ID3 tags so that this information will be displayed properly in MP3 players and in computer software such as iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc.

Jindies.com knows that many artists may not have the time, tools, and/or know-how to prepare and upload the song files to Jindies.com. Therefore Jindies.com can do all of this for you for a small fee.

  • Creation, preparation and upload of Format 1 and Format 2: 250 Yen per song
  • Creation, preparation and upload of Format 3: 300 Yen per Digital Album. :350 Yen per Digital Album
  • Scanning and including Album art and song lyrics in Format 3: 200 Yen per scan

Example:
Let's say that your want to sell 5 singles and 1 Digital Album (which includes the 5 Singles).
The Digital Album also includes 2 scans - one of the CD front cover and one of the CD back cover.

The cost would be:
1250 Yen (5 singles X 250 Yen)
400 Yen (2 scans X 200 Yen)
350 Yen (1 Digital Album which contains 5 singles and 2 scans)
------------
2000 Yen (Total)

Note: In order for Jindies.com to do the above, the artist must provide us with either a CD that can be ripped (for MP3s) and scanned (for album art). Or the artist must provide us song files in 16-bit, 44,100 Hz, stereo WAVE format, and album art in GIF, JPG, or PNG format.
