About two years ago in February I went to the 30th anniversary party of Life House Noro, a famous live music venue in Kichijoji. Appearing on the same bill with the internationally popular Plastic Soul Band, was a guitar-playing artist who really caught my ear with his silky smooth, yet smokey voice - Hirotsugu Mochida. That night Mochida san also proved to be a great showman who really knew how to get the audience out of their seats.

Hirotsugu Mochida, who idolizes Sam Cooke (and sounds a bit like him), is a very talented artist, and a true professional, who is very active around Tokyo, both promoting and MCing at events, as well as playing. Whenever I get the chance, I go to his events to hear him perform, and he always puts on an exciting and heart-warming show.

Anyway, grab a bottle of good wine, or some sake, then kick back and enjoy some of Hirotsugu Mochida's mellow tunes.
